About the Course: This Course will make you familiar with the various tools of IPRs.

 

Course Objective – This course provides the basic legal framework governing Patents, Trademarks, Domain Names, Service Marks, Industrial Designs, Geographical Indications, and Copyrights & Plant Variety Rights in India. You should be able to independently file, prosecute and obtain Trademarks, Designs, Patents, and Copyrights in India. This course will help the students seeking attractive IPR-related career opportunities in companies, LPOs, IP departments of Indian Corporates, MNCs, Government institutions, law firms etc. The course is also beneficial for entrepreneurs and professionals who wish to protect and maintain the IP created.

 

Course Description – This course provides an in-depth knowledge of the laws and process related to various forms of IPs for example -Trademarks, Copyrights, Patents, etc. This course provides complete knowledge of the laws and process related to the forms of intellectual property rights.

  5. Module V: Copyrights

  6. Module VI: Geographical Indications

  7. Module VII: Plant Variety Rights

  8. Module VIII: Advance Topics / issues in IPRs

 

Learning Outcome: The learner will be able to :

  1. Understand the basic legal framework governing Trademarks, Brand names, Domain Names, Service Marks in India;
  2. Independently file, prosecute and obtain Trademarks, Designs, Patents, Copyrights in India and file Trademark application under the International Madrid Protocol;
  3. Maintain Portfolios for various forms of IPs;
  4. Seek attractive IPR-related career opportunities in companies, LPOs, IP departments of Indian Corporates, MNCs, Government institutions, law firms etc.

 

Course Format:

  1. Main content of the course will be delivered using video lectures
  2. Major theory part is covered in detailed explanations in SLM.

 

Certificate Awarding Criteria: High stake assessment. If the student does not perform well in the high stake assessment, he may be asked to take the assessment again. High-stake assessment includes a final evaluation covering all the major sections of the curriculum. This final assessment will serve as the qualifying exam. The grading for the assessment will be done as per the following scheme:
